G.Gershwin International Music Competition!



The mission of the G. Gershwin Brooklyn International Competition is to encourage and support excellence in the performance of classical music by promoting the great Art of George Gershwin. G.Gershwin International Music Competition is proud to showcase the talents of young musicians around the world on the threshold of their careers in a competition adjudicated by internationally acclaimed judges, and to offer them additional performance opportunities.

G. Gershwin International Music Competition 2013 is proved to be a unique musical event, organized on a large-scale international level. The community met it with an overwhelming response. This speaks to the philanthropic spirit that is the hallmark to our shared values and ensuring the continuity and desire to help the most talented youngsters. In the 2014-2015 Concert Season we hold the II G. Gershwin International Music Competition to fostering more bright performers.

The World's Best musicians will compete in 2 exciting rounds for the substantial prize fund. The prestigious Jury is comprised of internationally acclaimed musicians from 5 of the World's Continents: North America, Europe, South America, Asia, and Africa.

Competition Bonuses

  • Arts AmbassadorsThe competitors are welcome to serve as Art Ambassadors to the local community. Ambassadors will have an opportunity to perform at Brooklyn Universities and schools and talk with students about life in their home country and the music they perform. Huge Number of students in our area will benefit from and will be inspired by this wonderful outreach program. The competition also provides the opportunity for students from local schools to attend the competition, many of whom have never before been exposed to a live performance.
  • Master ClassesSpecial events during the week, which are open to the public, include Master Classes given by the judges of The II G.Gershwin International Music Competition, and a special Lecture/Recital by the Piano Jury Chairman, Michael Bulychev-Okser.
  • OpportunitiesPrizes in each category include Best Interpretation awards, Study Scholarships at the Talent Under One Roof Music School, USA East Coast performance opportunities, Performance on the WQXR Classical Radio Station in New York, CD Recording on The Hidden Chapel - New York Label and many other.
  • Brooklyn-Queens CompetitionWhy Brooklyn? The great American Composer George Gershwin was born in Brooklyn, New York. Gershwin's music is a truly unique amalgamation of the everlasting traditions of the Western European Classical Music and the great Art of American Jazz. Gershwin's great art unified the hugely diverse population not only in Brooklyn, but around the entire United States, and set forth the corner stone of the Contemporary American music.
    The I G.Gershwin International Music Competition discovered the bright talent of the 8-yeard-old soprano, Coreen Jean. A resident of Brooklyn, New York, Coreen received the I prize in the youngest category voice competition, receiving the highest critical acclaim.
    This year more local talents will have opportunities to present their art to the world by participating in the Brooklyn-Queens Competition. Proudly presented by the Talent Under One Roof Music School, Brooklyn-Queens Competition will feature the talents from Brooklyn and Queens, who will compete for cash prizes and for an opportunity to participate in the II G.Gershwin International Music Competition.
